Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Assistant
Virtual Reality, Tele-Robotics and Human Machine Interface
The Neuromorphic Engineering Group of the SINAPSE Institute under the direction of Dr. Sunil Kukreja is interested in recruiting well trained, talented, skilled and highly motivated individuals to work in the area of Neuromorphic Engineering, Hardware Design, Advanced Signal Processing, Haptics, Neuromorphic Robotics and Tele-Robotics.
The main objectives of the laboratory are research and development of neuromorphic circuits and systems, as well as developing computational algorithms, in areas including but not limited to touch, vision, autonomous and collective decision-making and tele-robotics.
At the present time we have a need for a Research Assistant to explore human machine interface. We use a variety of approaches to study this question. We are looking for passionate developers with a strong background in algorithms, system design or network programming. The Research Assistant will help with 1) Virtual Reality Development in a CAVE VR system. 2) Design and implement robust Cyber Physical System. We are looking for motivated researchers/programmers with expertise in several of the key areas:
• Familiarity with embedded systems software architectures and development kits (Arduino).
• Understanding of network programming and concurrent programming.
• Designing large software systems.
• Implementing algorithms, familiar with linear algebra, calculus and probability theory.

The selected candidate must have exceptional analytical abilities, very strong programming and hardware skills, and ability to communicate effectively with the team.

The successful candidate will have the following credentials
• Minimum Education: M.Eng/M.S. ECE, BME, ME, CS
• Excellent written & spoken English
• Credentials from top tier university
• 0-5 years experience required
